Important changes concerning paper presentations at meetings

The SBL meeting in Atlanta recently approved a number of changes.
We would like to highlight in particular the following:

4. There has also been considerable discussion about the criteria for the participation of students as paper presenters for the Annual Meeting. Council has also taken the following unanimous actions:




1. All students without a doctoral degree are required to submit to the Program Unit Chair the full text of the paper they are proposing to read.






2. The number of sessions a student without a doctoral degree can participate in will be limited to one.

As the submission due date for the 2011 annual meeting is at the end of February 2011, this implies that those planning to submit proposals would best start as soon as possible to write their papers.
